【精麻の説明】

精麻とは、おおぬさ（麻）の茎の部分を丁寧に精製した、黄金色の美しい繊維です。 水や塩よりも清めの力が強く、「神が宿る植物」「神様のしるし」といわれ、古来より神事に欠かせない素材でした。 現在でも神社の注連縄や鈴紐などに使われています。縄文時代の遺跡からも出土するほど、日本人の暮らしに深く結びついてきた大切な繊維です。
